Filarial nematode. Adults are thread- like and white, the female worms are 80- 100 mm in
length and 0.2- 0.3 mm in width and are usually twice the size of the adult male.
Microfilaria are 250- 300 mm long and 7- 9 mm wide. The parasites reside in the lymphatic
system.

Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments.
The dust may produce eye discomfort causing smarting, pain and redness.
INCUBATION PERIOD:
Principal routes of exposure are by skin contact, accidental injection (needle stick), ingestion and/or inhalation of aerosols. Symptoms and longer term effects are related to the pathology of the infection.
