POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS

ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS

SWALLOWED

  Not normally a hazard due to physical form of product.  Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments.  Ingestion of anionic surfactants may produce diarrhea, bloated stomach,and occasional vomiting.  

EYE

  The liquid may produce eye discomfort causing smarting, pain and redness.  

SKIN

  The liquid is not harmful to the skin when used as directed.  Irritation and skin reactions are possible with sensitive skin.  

INHALED

  Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product.  Central nervous system (CNS) depression may include general discomfort, symptoms of giddiness, headache, dizziness, nausea, anaesthetic effects, slowed reaction time, slurred speech and may progress to unconsciousness. Serious poisonings may result in respiratory depression and may be fatal.  WARNING: Intentional misuse by concentrating/inhaling contents may be lethal.  

CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTS

  There is some evidence that inhaling this product is more likely to cause a sensitization reaction in some persons compared to the general population.  

  Principal route of occupational exposure to the gas is by inhalation.  Indicators are that short term exposure to the material by all routesis not harmful.  WARNING: Aerosol containers may present pressure related hazards.
