This book represents the theory of the design and generation of noncircular gears
 that are usually applied in automatic machines and instruments, for variation of 
the speed or generation of functions. By using methods of generation similar to 
those applied to circular gears, different approaches to the design and generation 
of the main types of noncircular gears (elliptical gears, eccentric circular gears, oval 
gears, gears with lobes, and twisted gears) have been developed in an effort to 
extend the application of noncircular gear drives in mechanisms and industry.
